prepared to be huge...

Let's take a little stroll down memory lane...this picture (I can't believe I'm sharing this) was taken the day before Parker was born.  We literally took this picture, ate Sumo (spicy calamari in hopes of forcing P out on his own), then checked into the hospital so that I could begin the induction process.   Let's be honest...I.was.huge.

Fast forward to today...I have now been told three times in the last week (after being asked how far along I was), "oh, you are quite big!"  This has become my standard response, "I know; my first was over 9 pounds so I'm prepared to be huge, ha...ha...ha..."

I originally thought this time might be different.  I ran until I was 36 weeks with Parker (use the picture above to help you imagine me on a treadmill with shirts that no longer cover the bump...I bet you're smiling now:).  Because I had a period where I didn't think I was going to be able to run with this baby, I thought I might be smaller (my logic was the more I run, the hungrier I am, the more I eat, the bigger the baby gets).  However, I have been running again for the last month and a half and my appetite seems never ending.  I am a little nervous that, because it is my second, this baby could be bigger.  If I was having a second c-section, I wouldn't be worried, but I am determined to try and have a VBAC so I can't lie...the thought of having a 9+ pound baby scares the heck out of me!

Oh well, here's to slowly growing my own watermelon again!

I was 10 lb 10 oz, and the nurses kept telling my mom that the second baby was bigger. My mother emphatically insisted the second baby would not be bigger. And she was right. Lu was only 10 lb 10 oz. So keep thinking positive! :-)

I thought that was you today! So glad it was last time.

Braden was 3 ounces bigger and a week earlier... 8lbs 12 oz. So this one could be pushing 9!

My achilles is still sore, so I've been doing the elliptical and running once a week (pushing the double jogger...) and it's getting so hard. It just wears your body down!

Kenneth was 9 lb. 5 oz. Diana was 7 lb. 2 ounces. I was big both times, though the lady that told me I was the biggest pregnant woman she had ever seen made me feel so good! That was with Kenneth, by the way. I cannot believe you are running again - that just seems painful to me. But if you feel like you can do it, that is great. You are sure there aren't twins?

Anyway, good to see you are doing well, and big babies sleep through the night earlier, so that is a good thing! Hang in there.

Hey Sam! Love your blog! I'm so interested in hearing about your delivery this time and hopefully a successful VBAC! Carson was big too (9.5) and delivered via c-section so I love hearing success stories for when we have more children some day:).

You are so cute! B was big, and it hurts - no lie - but YOU CAN DO IT!!! And, if you don't, that's just the way it was supposed to be. Don't get too wrapped up in all the technical stuff, just enjoy being pregnant, the delivery and your presh baby! So excited for ya!
